  • I’m so glad I found you!

imagine a picture is worth a thousand words, your beautiful memories, our creative imagery! One of my greatest joys, the simplicity of freezing a moment in time, storing history, celebrating life and love. I've always been a dreamer...easily fascinated. I love smiling faces and people with a good sense of humour. Never been one to "follow the rules" a little bit cheeky, energetic, some what adventurous and spontaneous! I love making new friends, and sharing stories. Wishing you a happy visit here and I hope to share your stories soon ♥ Sim xx

Tim & Gabriella | K1 Winery

Tim & Gabbie’s wedding is just another adventure ticked off on their life list.

These two are amazing little adventurers. They have a severe case of wanderlust!

The day after their wedding, they hopped on a plane to Thailand with a one way ticket each. What kind of awesome honeymoon is that!

They have travelled all over Oz in their car, affectionately named Troopy, and took over 15,000 photos doing so.

The proposal took place underwater at the Great Barrier Reef, with the ring hiding inside a shell. ( Yes, Tim gets a lot of points for that stunt. )

The wedding day was just perfect, and mostly so, because the bride and groom were so obviously in love.

Tim and Gabbie tied the knot and had their reception at the beautiful  K1 Winery owned by the very lovely Geoff and Fiona Hardy

Special thank you to my dearest friend and associate photographer…Sandy Woodward of Memory Bank photography

Mr. Dude [Jude] newborn photography | Adelaide family portrait photographer

My beautiful nephew Jude was joyously welcomed into this world on the 16th of July, 2012. I was completely blown away as I photographed my sister’s labour and his birth and it was so peaceful and perfect. He weighed a healthy 4.45kg or if you’re old school like me…9lb 13oz. I’ve been a little bit of a busy Aunt of late and it’s taken me four months to get these photos up (woops) but here they are…

PS. newborn photos are best done sooner rather than later, little man was two weeks old in these photos. If you are expecting a new bundle of joy to your family and would like to have some newborn portraits it’s a good idea to book a session months before your due date to ensure you have a secure booking. You are welcome to contact me at and I look forward to more baby cuddles!

Cath and Jamie’s Hawaiian Wedding | Adelaide Wedding photographer, Hawaii

On the 26th of Sept, I set off with my eldest son Ethan for our very first ever overseas adventure. Excitement was an understatement as we were off to a wedding in Hawaii!!

Cath, my very beautiful best friend of twenty plus years was marrying her soul mate Jamie and asked me to photograph their wedding …eeep! Naturally I said “Hell YES!” and couldn’t WAIT to be a part of their big plans.  Jamie, Cath and Imogen live in NSW. We venture there as often as possible, my kids love Sydney too. I call it my “home away from home” because I can’t stand to not see them and we always have a fab time. I couldn’t believe my ears when Cath called me and asked us to fly to Hawaii with them…it’s come around so fast.

So our adventure begins…

After a 10.5 hour flight we arrived safely in the beautiful tropical Hawaii. Cath and Jamie who had arrived on a flight a couple of hours before, greeted us with gorgeous smiles and fresh Lei’s.
We caught a shuttle bus to the car rental and as we’re driving in I noticed two hot convertible Mustangs. In my usual cheeky humour I said to Cath “oh look, there’s our cars!” she shot me a look and I zipped it because little did I know they HAD hired the two Mustangs! a “his and hers” for the entire time we were there. Sooooo excited!! You should’ve seen Ethan’s face hehe. So we jump in our sexy Mustangs and headed off to our accommodation at The Bay Front Kohola Hale Estate in Kaneohe, Oahu. Now I had seen photos on the internet of where we were staying but nothing prepared us for how beautiful and tranquil it was. Not to mention the amazing hospitality offered. Mahalo Jennifer. (for the Aussies, Mahalo means thankyou)

We spent the next few days, eating and shopping and then some more eating and shopping haha…Pearl Harbour, Waikiki and a gorgeous secluded beach was also part of our adventures. I have to mention that Peter and Brenda, Jamie’s parents celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary the day before the wedding ♥ that night we went out for dinner at the Hawaiian Luau Show at the Polynesian Cultural Center. Congratulations Peter and Brenda xx

The day before the wedding the guys went to the local Air show and had their massive dose of man stuff,  jet engines, a flash fire jet truck and fighter planes etc. Oh wow did they come back with humongous grins on their faces and some fantastic photos taken by Jamie’s best man Moloy. He soon became my new photog buddy haha…poor guy got his ears talked off about nerdy photography stuff! And a big thankyou to Moloy for taking a few photos on the day when I couldn’t be in two places at once, you’re a star!

Jamie found out the USA Navy Blue Angels were going to do a fly over on his wedding day.
Jamie: “I would like to thank Capt Greg Mcwherter, LCDR David Tickle and Maj Brent Stevens of the United States Navy for being kind enough to organise the Blue Angels to do a flyover of our wedding, guys that was seriously cool and it was quite a nice touch to an amazing day”

The beautiful bride and her ladies took off to China town to hunt down the flowers for the wedding. There were quite a few florists to choose from and we thought we had found the one until we walked a few metres down the road where we met Kay. Super lovely and so talented, she soon gave Cath all the information we needed for traditional Lei’s and bouquets for a Hawaiian wedding and set about making them right in front of our eyes! It was amazing to watch her. Cath’s lei was called a Purple Christina orchid Lei and is made with nearly 600 dendrobium orchid petals precisely layered back-and-forth upon each other to create a “feathered” look. Kay had a pug dog, her baby who was quite obviously used to the traffic of visitors in her store and happily went on with her day snoring at high decibels!! Haha…it never got boring, we laughed so much!

Wedding Day
The weather was warm and balmy, the USA Navy Blue Angels did a fly over, Cath and Immi looked radiant, Jamie scrubbed up pretty good (hehe) and the ceremony was perfect, loving and intimate. Their reception dinner was at Nobu in Waikiki. All I can say is W.O.W! if you ever venture to Waikiki please do yourself a favour and go, incredible experience. Only one photo of Nobu (the very last shot on the page) as we were in Zen and couldn’t muster lifting a camera haha. I was so happy to be there with them, witnessing my dearest friends who have such an incredible bond, give their hand in marriage and their hearts to each other.

Dearest Cath, Jamie and Immi
from the depths of our hearts thank you from myself and Ethan for inviting us to share such a special day with you all. I love you guys, and I hope these photos flood back all the happy memories of a truly special time. Hope you’re enjoying your honeymoon, will see you soon

Tim & Gabbie | couples portraiture Adelaide wedding photographer

Hmmm…where do I start with these two lovers?! A beautiful story of love, travel and friendship ♥

Tim and Gabbie first met at a bar in Glenelg SA in Sept 2007
A month later, Gabbie was working for Tim at his Blockbuster store
Another year later they moved on from the fact he was her boss and decided to make it official
2010 T & G set off for a whirlwind trip around Australia.

“ We hugged the coast in a clockwise direction making sure that we visited every state, territory, capital city and point of Australia”
It was after the holiday where Tim decided that he could spend his life with Gabbie ♥

This is the part that I can’t cut down…it’s too beautiful. So from the heart in words from Gabbie, this is how Tim proposed to her…

“On our 3rd year anniversary Tim decided to take me on a surprise holiday to celebrate. Tim told me that we were going to Kangaroo Island and to pack warm clothing, so I did. Little did I know that whilst I was sleeping Tim repacked my suitcase as he had lied about where we were going. So the day before our anniversary we got dropped at the airport where it dawns on me that we were no longer going to Kangaroo Island. As Tim was still so persistent as to not tell me where we were going he made me stand by myself whilst he checked in so that I couldn’t overhear where we were headed. When all bags were checked in we went through security and I remember paying Tim out about his filthy moustache saying he will get pulled aside for a random bomb test. It turned out that the security man complimented Tim’s moe as he also had a sweet Movember Moe going on. And of course then the security lady pulled me aside instead. The security lady asked ‘So where are you headed?’ and I simply replied ‘This is going to sound really bad but I have no idea where we are going’. The security lady looked at me funnily then just laughed and let me pass. Tim then made us sit at the wrong gate so that I still couldn’t work out where we were going or overhear the call for our departure gate opening. It wasn’t until we were on the aeroplane that the air hostess told me where we were headed…Cairns! Best surprise ever. Little did I know that the surprises had just begun. Once we arrived in Cairns Tim checked us in to the most amazing hotel room, with views overlooking the marina. It was here that I noticed the Pro Dive boat that we learnt to dive on in 2010. Tim had a laugh and said there is your anniversary surprise another 3 day scuba diving adventure on the Great Barrier Reef. I was beside myself with excitement. So we relaxed for a little while then headed down to check in for our 3 day trip. Here is where surprise 3 and 4 happened. A good friend of ours from gymnastics was waiting for us at the dive shop as she was going out on the same boat as us and our dive instructor from last year was going to be on the same boat too! What a coincidence that these people we knew were all going to be on the same boat as us for the next 3 days……. Another surprise and late birthday present was doing our Advanced Divers Course which was the next level in the scuba diving qualifications to do. For one of the dives we had to do some navigation, to make sure we understood how to use our dive compass. Our test was to head at 0 degrees for 30 kicks, I remember thinking ‘man that’s a bit easy!’ So off we went and obviously because I am so much smaller than Tim I reached my 30 kicks before him and was ready to turn back. Tim had to stop me and keep me going, that is when I saw Dave (our instructor) with his camera, the slate with the beautiful proposal message written on it and the shell with this stunning ring inside. I remember tears rushing to my eyes, but being unable to wipe them away due to being underwater and also having to tell myself to breathe. This was the most amazing proposal ever and one I truly will never forget!! We are both so excited to start our lives together as husband and wife, see the world with each other and share many more beautiful memories together. We are about to leave for a year honeymoon (well indefinite really) to see what the world has to offer”

*sigh* how gorgeous are they?! I cannot WAIT to photograph their wedding in November. Here’s a few photos from T & G’s engagement session. I sometimes have my couples fill out a fun lighthearted questionnaire about each other, then as we go into their photo session I get them to tell each other the answers, I love their responses it’s SO cute! Fun and natural emotions ♥
These photos were taken at the beautiful Adelaide Botanic gardens.
