  • I’m so glad I found you!

imagine a picture is worth a thousand words, your beautiful memories, our creative imagery! One of my greatest joys, the simplicity of freezing a moment in time, storing history, celebrating life and love. I've always been a dreamer...easily fascinated. I love smiling faces and people with a good sense of humour. Never been one to "follow the rules" a little bit cheeky, energetic, some what adventurous and spontaneous! I love making new friends, and sharing stories. Wishing you a happy visit here and I hope to share your stories soon ♥ Sim xx

sweet friendship

I tried So hard to not post this…as I wanted to save it for something special! a big blog or something BUT I cannot help myself, such a powerful photo of two sweet friends just being themselves. Babies to mothers, cheeky kids to Dad’s, annoying brother or sister to siblings…in this moment to them no-one else mattered! they were the centre of their own universe…two hearts collide. I could be jumping the gun here but…see for yourself and think back to the time you fell in love

My school holiday survival kit

Well the school holidays are in full flight as are my three boys!!! With the distraction and incentive of being well behaved for the arrival of Santa already becoming a distant memory, I was at my wits end trying to keep these kidlets in line…aaaargh!;)Don’t get me wrong they’re good boys overall but they do argue A LOT! so…..

In comes this brilliant idea I came across on Pinterest

The Consequence Jar!

I’d warned them once before I was going to do this and like most kids, they didn’t believe me so I did it hehe. I opened up a word document, made the font size 20 so it was pretty big and spaced the sentences out two spaces so there was room to cut them. I printed it out on A4 paper, cut them into strips and rolled them around a pencil with the words on the inside so they didn’t know which ones they were picking. Please know there’s nothing too mean in there and my kids are actually strangely excited about which consequence they want haha crazy kids!! but boy ‘o boy I do hope they misbehave more because my house will be SO clean hahaha

I wrote sentences like:
~ Sweep all the leaves and dirt from the back patio onto the lawn
~ Do 10 push-ups and 3 laps around the back yard
~ Clean out Mum’s car
and some of my favourites…
~ Scrub the bathroom floor with a toothbrush
~ Go to bed 10 mins early
~ No computer or Wii games for 24 hours

If anyone wants a copy of the list you can grab it here: Consequence Jar

Our Christmas

….the next day!
Christmas day is fantastic but the very next day Boxing day holiday is like a breath of fresh air! The aftermath of SO much food that we no longer have to cook but need to eat! so many pressies, over-tired/over stimulated kids and parents!! time to relax;)I truly couldn’t imagine it any other way ♥ The Christmas tree adorned with handmade decorations proudly brought home from school minus a mulititude of presents piled underneath and the lights still sparkling as proudly as the day before. The last of the decorations left outside to remind us of the celebrations. A sunshiney sunrise, another beautiful day in Adelaide. Recollections and satisfaction of another great Chrissy day.

Yesterday I didn’t have time to photograph anything…but today I made certain I would grab some shots of my kids their cousin enjoying this christmas! Matt and I decided to get the kids a pool this year, and OH boy it was the right decision they LOVE it. We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with the people you love and wish you a new year filled with love, good health and prosperity.

A day in the life of….

I recently had the greatest pleasure of spending an entire day with my gorgeous best friend Sandy and her beautiful family, hubby Danny and kidlets Alexis (aka Lexi) and Noah (aka Boof, ratbag or eating machine!!! LOL) to photograph a day in their life.

It all started with a sleep over. An early rise prompted by the ever so handsome Noah at the bright and early time of 6:30am. Cuddles with Mum and Dad in bed is a must on a saturday morning ♥  it was all action from there. Brekkie was served by big sister Lexi. Teeth brushing never looked like so much fun haha and soon after that it was time for us girls to head out to Lexi’s Theatre Bugs dance lessons. Once Miss Twinkle Toes had finished her delightful performance a quick trip to the post office was required to send a super special parcel to a family member for her birthday. Sandy and Lexi had planned for an outing to the local garden nursery shop to buy strawberry punnets to plant. Little bouncing bean Noah (who we all took turns in chasing after!) reminded me of my eldest, Ethan when he was  a toddler.  Both have an ENORMOUS amount of energy. I love the seeing the world through their eyes. Master adventurers!

With strawberry seedlings lovingly planted and watered, Miss Lexi sang her baby plants a little song of happiness and growth. Gorgeous little hippy ♥ just like her beautiful Mumma

The moment Mr. Noah was napping it was pampering time for Miss Lexi and her Mumma. With a quiet moment to spare we were able to sneak in some fun photos of Mum and Dad. I cheekily brought along a questionnaire for them to fill out with fun, light hearted questions about each other! It was comical but also endearing getting to know just that little bit more about my dear friends.

These are the moments as a family that we treasure! The every day stuff! Think of ALL the times you turn to your partner or a friend and say “remember that time….” it’s the simple things like a goofy smile from one of your kids, an unexpected flower gifted to you that was proudly picked from your garden (like the precious soursob or dandelion) and fun trips out as a family. Even if someone had a melt down on a big excursion! it happens doesn’t it! that’s life and and it’s all about adventures. Kids grow up so fast, memories sometimes escape us in this crazy busy life but photos will always remain. Like a story that we lovingly share for many years…
